suspicious money flow involving a branch manager was caught at Kyongnam Bank.

Part of the loan to the company went to a loan company owned by the branch manager's family, but the disciplinary action was limited.

Correspondent Kim Jung-woo reported.

A one-story mixed-use apartment building was completed in 2019.

At that time, the head of branch A of Kyongnam Bank lent 4 billion won to a construction company with 13 commercial buildings on the first and second floors of this building as collateral, but the loan has not yet been returned.

This is because the sale is not done properly.

[Jumin: There used to be a lot of people at the (nearby) company in the past, but now it has halved. Is there anyone without them?]

Coincidentally, on the day the loan in question was made, the construction company paid off a debt of 1.3 billion won to a loan company owned by the wife of Branch A and an acquaintance.

Something similar happened again.

In February of last year, despite opposition from the headquarters, a loan was approved to a manufacturer, and 200 million won flowed into the same lender that day.

After paying a loan of more than 4 billion won to a construction company that was building an apartment, a window manufacturer, whose wife is the CEO of Branch A, was also selected as a supplier to this construction company.

In addition, as more suspicious money transactions involving the family were revealed, it was pointed out that the branch manager A had abused his authority inside the bank.

However, the bank decided to give the branch manager a three-month suspension and not notify the investigation agency.

In response, Kyongnam Bank said, "We will do our best to strengthen employee education and preventive activities so that this does not happen again."
