His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dahra Holding Company, stressed that the file of food security for the UAE is of great importance and a major priority for the sustainability and continuity of quality of life in the country.

His Highness said that the UAE has been keen, since its establishment, to develop innovative visions and strategies in this field and has been interested in working to achieve a food security strategy for its citizens and residents within the approved international standards approved by international organizations of various names.

This came while His Highness chaired at the Palm Palace a meeting of the Board of Directors of Al Dahra Holding Company - 50% of which is owned by ADQ Holding Company - in the presence of Abdul Hamid Saeed, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the company, Khadim Abdullah Al Deri, Managing Director and a number of Board members.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the UAE was a pioneer in adopting innovative strategies and initiatives to limit climate changes, price fluctuations and supply chain challenges. His Highness stressed that the UAE was a pioneer in finding the most important possible solutions to confront food challenges in light of crises, by strengthening its capabilities and capabilities to confront them, especially in the conditions imposed on it by the "Covid-19 pandemic".

His Highness added: Al Dahra Holding Company believes in the challenges posed by climate change with the continuous decline in the area of ​​arable land and the decreasing water resources available, so it is keen to keep water and food security at the core of its strategy.

His Highness called on the members of the board of directors to exert more efforts to achieve the required goals and to strive for Al Dahra Holding Company to be a partner and a sustainable supplier of agricultural and food products.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan was briefed on the financial and administrative situation of the company, its strategy and five-year plan, and the adoption of the company's transformation project for the coming years, in addition to a number of topics on the agenda.

The Board of Directors approved the formation of the Executive Committee headed by Abdul Hamid Saeed and the membership of each of Khadim Abdullah Al Derei, Muhammad Hassan Al Suwaidi, Khalifa Al Suwaidi and Engineer Hussein Salem Al Kathiri.

The Board also approved the appointment of Khadim Abdullah Al Darei as managing director of the company.
