Commenting on the statement about Gazprom's non-participation in daily trading, Sukhov said that it had been suspended “starting from September”.

According to him, no one knew that such a situation would develop when the heating season began in many regions on September 12.

He noted that from about September 17, heating was turned on in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Sukhov added that by the end of September "the overdraft in daily consumption from the planned targets reached 250 million."

Moreover, we have not yet ensured to the end of the planned targets for injection (in the UGS), ”RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the initiative to increase gas supply on the market amid rising energy prices in Europe. 

At the same time, the Russian leader emphasized that this should be done not through the EU spot market, but through the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange.
