Dubai Economy violates a car exhibition that misled consumers through a celebrity

The commercial control and consumer protection sector in the Dubai Economy violated a car exhibition, which launched a misleading advertising campaign for consumers, announcing the provision of cars with certain specifications and offering benefits and gifts when buying those cars, using a social media celebrity.

And Dubai Economy stated in a statement today, that the exhibition management was summoned to officially attend the department's headquarters to stop this negative practice.

Dubai Economy explained that it considers the merchant who promotes any misleading advertising campaign to consumers through his social media account or through social media celebrities, responsible for the advertising content, benefits, discounts and gifts that are being promoted, and from here, Dubai Economy directs the business sector to ensure the accuracy of advertising campaigns. Obtaining a permit for these promotional campaigns before starting their implementation.
