• Keys The new Housing Law will force large owners to lower rents and freeze the price for individuals

Hours after closing the agreement with United We Can on the future Housing Law, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, surprised again by announcing the creation of a

housing

voucher

for rent of 250 euros per month

for young people between

18 and 35 young people

whose annual income level is less than 23,725 euros.

The voucher will be in force for the next two years and for

vulnerable families

, this voucher will be completed with more direct rental assistance of up to 40% of the value.

Both measures surprised the audience of the I Urban Forum of Spain, which is held this Tuesday in Seville, in which the President of the Government has also referred to the agreement to carry out the Housing Law and, consequently, the General Budgets for 2022 .

"This is an

unprecedented milestone. It

will offer legal coverage to social and protected housing. Agreed within the Government. We have spoken with many companies. It will build a solid, complete and transversal guarantee of rights," he assured in his speech , aware of the impact that such a rule could have on investors and the country's legal security.

Sánchez has also assured that the next PGE, which include this first State Housing Law, will respond to the demand for the emancipation of young people in all cities of Spain.

"We are going to allocate a public policy to reduce the age of emancipation

so unbearably high in our country

so that young people can access decent rental housing with the support and help of the General State Administration," the president remarked.

At the press conference after the Council of Ministers,

Félix Bolaños

, the Minister of the Presidency, stressed that the amount allocated to finance this measure is "a not inconsiderable amount" and that the bonus "will be important to help young people to that they can be emancipated ".
