Called Uptis (for Unique Puncture-proof Tire System), this tire developed by Michelin was presented in action at the recent Munich Motor Show.

It stands out from the others by its many fiberglass slats which absorb shocks instead of air.

According to the French manufacturer, 200 million tires end up in the landfill every year following a puncture.

Uptis could therefore avoid this ecological disaster.

Its development will take place in the United States, in collaboration with General Motors.

It should be marketed in 2024.
