We learned on Thursday of the disappearance at the age of 90 of Edmond Pery, creator in 1961 (with Bruno Vidick) of the company Apal, for Application polyester reinforced Liège.

This Belgian car manufacturer has become known for its VW-based achievements, such as buggies, Formula Vee single-seaters or the GT.

At the beginning of the 80s, the Liège company also developed the concept of a GT called Francorchamps (photo below) unfortunately remained without follow-up.

Never short of ideas, Edmond Pery had also embarked on the production of replicas of Porsche 356 Speedstser, always based on VW chassis.

An early collector of vintage cars, the entrepreneur innovated in the 1980s by manufacturing polyester bathtubs.

Despite Apal's bankruptcy in 2008, Edmond Pery was still present at many automotive events in the Plat Pays.
