Google, a major IT company, started a new service in Japan on the 16th to publish articles of affiliated newspapers and news agencies after paying the usage fee.

Google started with "Google News Showcase", which publishes articles from domestic newspapers, news agencies, and more than 40 affiliated companies from the 16th.

Apart from normal news distribution and Internet search, articles selected by partner companies are posted after paying the "royalty".

This service means that you may be able to browse articles that are charged by newspapers and news agencies for free.

Regarding the introduction of the service, the existing media, which faces a decline in advertising revenue, has demanded that Google, which makes a huge amount of advertising revenue, pay the article usage fee.

Last year, Google announced that it would pay affiliated media outlets $ 1 billion for articles and other royalties over a three-year period, although it did not disclose royalties for individual companies.

In addition to Japan, we will publish articles from more than 1000 media outlets in more than 12 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil and India.
