According to trade statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, exports in August last month increased by 26.2% from the same month last year, increasing for the sixth straight month.

The value of exports during this period last year was declining due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and as a reaction to this, it increased significantly.

However, as the value of imports also increased significantly, the trade balance in August, after deducting imports from exports, was a deficit of 635.4 billion yen, the first trade deficit in three months.
