As Interfax reports with reference to the OKB, the August figure increased by 7.7% compared to July, and by 28.2% compared to August 2020.

It is noted that since January, borrowers have received 40% more cash loans than in the same period last year.

According to experts, the largest increase in the number of loans compared to the previous month took place in the Leningrad Region, St. Petersburg and Moscow.

The general director of the OKB Artur Aleksandrovich noted that Russians traditionally take more loans in August than in July.

According to him, this is due to the vacation period and other seasonal factors, for example, preparation for the academic year.

Earlier, RT was told at the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBCH) that the average number of active loans from a Russian borrower in August 2021 was 2.1.
