The price of electricity in the wholesale market will reach its second highest price on Tuesday the 14th with
153.43 euros per megawatt hour
on average.
In September, 13 of the 14 most expensive days in history have already been recorded and the record has been broken five times.
The most expensive Tuesday to date will coincide with the
Council of Ministers
in which the Government will present its plan of measures to solve the electricity crisis.
It could include a new tax cut and a review of the regulated tariff to avoid your exposure to these market fluctuations.
Despite this very slight break of 0.73 cents compared to 154.16 euros on Monday the 13th, the upward trend is expected to continue in the coming months.
After two weeks, the average price for September goes up to 142.58 euros, well above the 41.96 euros that electricity cost in the same month in 2020 or 42.11 in 2019. What's more, yes electricity had a cost of 0 euros during the remaining 16 days, the average price would remain at 66.54 euros, still more than 50% above the previous years.
Throughout the day there will be several peaks above 170 euros (the maximum will be 171.58) and it will never fall below 119.95 euros.
