The STR Corporation, which specializes in hotel research, said that the performance of the hotel market in Dubai witnessed an increase during last August compared to the previous July, stressing that Dubai is one of the best performing global markets ahead of the activities of the Expo 2020 Dubai.

The corporation revealed that the average occupancy for August 2021 amounted to about 58.4%, while the average daily price was 373.61 dirhams, and the revenue for each available hotel room was 218.32 dirhams.

According to the latest data of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, the number of hotel rooms in Dubai at the end of June 2021 was about 128 thousand and 777 hotel rooms, among 718 hotel facilities.

Five-star luxury hotel rooms accounted for 35% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai, after they numbered 44,365 rooms in 133 facilities, followed by four-star rooms with a rate of 28%, registering 36,553 rooms within 166 facilities. .

In turn, hotels classified between three stars and one star accounted for about 18%, with a capacity of 23,650 rooms, within 231 facilities, while the number of medium and luxury hotel apartments reached 188 facilities, comprising 24,209 apartments, with apartments acquiring 19% of the total.
