Emirates Airlines boosts South African operations with 28 weekly flights

Emirates Airlines announced today that it will expand its operations to and from South Africa, and enhance its schedule to 28 flights per week by next October, to be the largest weekly schedule for the airline to that country since the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic.

The company said in a statement that its step aims to provide wider options for customers wishing to visit Dubai, or travel through it to various destinations within the global airline network, which covers more than 120 destinations on six continents.

The intensification of operations to South Africa, as of October 31, 2021, includes the operation of two daily flights to Johannesburg, one of them with the giant Emirates A380 aircraft, in addition to a daily service to Cape Town and Durban.

Emirates Airlines stated that, as of January 1, 2022, it will start serving the two daily "Johannesburg" flights with A380 aircraft.
