Toward the realization of a carbon-free society, major financial companies have set a series of goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to virtually zero, including not only their own groups but also business partners who are investing and lending.

Of these, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group has set a goal of virtually zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, including those with which it invests and lends.

Going forward, we will continue to invest in and lend to businesses that will lead to emission reductions, and plan to increase the amount of investment and loans in the environmental field to 30 trillion yen in the 10 years until 2029.

The Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group has also set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to virtually zero by 2050, including its business partners.

Investors and environmental groups are paying strict attention to financial institutions regarding measures to deal with decarbonization, and the aim is to set in-depth goals and show their stance toward domestic and overseas efforts.
