Regarding money laundering by criminal organizations = so-called money laundering measures, the international organization that examines the efforts of each country = FATF publishes the examination results for Japan and evaluates the results of the measures so far, while measures by regional banks etc. Is inadequate and requires the government to strengthen its supervision and inspection system.



In response to this, Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato set up a study room for the necessary legislation in the Cabinet Secretariat at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting to strengthen anti-money laundering measures, and chaired the National Public Safety Commission Tanahashi. It was clarified that it will be assigned to the person in charge.



He added, "As the government, the relevant ministries and agencies will continue to work together on measures such as legislation and money laundering."
