Last month's production by major domestic automakers fell below last year's levels due to a global semiconductor shortage and the rapid spread of the new coronavirus infection in Southeast Asia.

Eight domestic automakers announced last month's domestic and international production, with five falling below the same month last year.

Of these, Honda's production fell in China and the United States, and domestic and overseas production fell by 23%.

In addition, Mazda's production decreased by 20%, SUBARU's production decreased by 18%, Nissan Motor's production decreased by 16%, and Daihatsu's production decreased by 4%.

This is due to the delay in parts procurement due to the global shortage of semiconductors, and the reduction of production and the suspension of factory operations by each company.

On the other hand, Mitsubishi Motors (51%), Suzuki (15%) and Toyota (11%) each exceeded the same month last year.

Regarding the production of each company, Honda suspended production at its main domestic factory this month, and Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. also next month, saying that the procurement of parts has been delayed due to the shortage of semiconductors and the rapid spread of infection in Southeast Asia. , We have decided to make a large-scale production cut of 360,000 units at home and abroad.
