The Federal Youth Authority held a meeting on youth participation in the design of the "Youth Pavilion" programs and events at Expo 2020 Dubai. The meeting witnessed the participation of about 100 young Emirati cadres, who will work in cooperation with 20 work teams to manage and operate more than 400 activities, programs and events that will be held in the pavilion, which was revealed in conjunction with the International Youth Day, and will serve as a main platform for all initiatives and projects related to the involvement and empowerment Young people, celebrating their talents, presenting their experiences and highlighting their contributions and achievements, will serve more than 300,000 people.

During the meeting, the Federal Youth Authority team presented a detailed plan for the Youth Pavilion Program, in cooperation with the Arab Youth Center and a large number of national, regional and international institutions, which will review the Emirati model for youth empowerment and launch a set of new youth initiatives that coincide with the UAE Centennial 2071, and provide an opportunity for all Youth and institutions from around the world to learn about the best models, experiences, and services provided to youth, which aim to develop an incubating environment to empower young people and motivate them to actively contribute to serving the nation at the national, local, regional and international levels.

The meeting brought together the Director General of the Federal Youth Authority and CEO of the Arab Youth Center, Saeed Al-Nazari, and the Foundation’s team with the participating youth, to design joint initiatives that contribute to empowering youth in managing the pavilion and organizing events, activities and programs to ensure the participation of young people in the various stages of implementation and development, reflecting aspirations, visions and ambitions. The theory and the team will also work with the participants to continue raising brief perceptions to improve and develop the youth pavilion, and to implement ideas and proposals according to the time frame of the Expo, maximizing the opportunities available to them and all the youth attendees and institutions concerned with benefiting from their energies and creativity in various fields.

Programme of Action

He added: “We will work with the youth to develop the work program to use their energies in design, management and organization throughout the exhibition days from October 1, 2021 until the end of March 2022, and at the end of it we will celebrate dozens of success stories of youth determination, and therefore this pavilion will be the incubator for all youth activities in (Expo 2020 Dubai).

For his part, Head of the Existing Initiatives Department at the Federal Youth Authority, Rashid Al Shamsi, said that "the team is working to intensify its communication with various institutions and authorities to benefit from the services of the youth pavilion, in addition to the offices designated for volunteers' work and to facilitate their tasks in the exhibition field."

Al Shamsi gave a detailed presentation of the initiatives that will be organized, including “Youth Lights”, the “Gulf Young Entrepreneurs Forum” initiative, and the organization of more than 16 youth seminars, in conjunction with 15 global events and celebrations, within the United Nations agenda, and the creation of a data platform for documenting youth contributions In various sectors that support the UAE’s hosting of this global event and the National Program for Emirati Youth Values.
