In order to further promote the electrification of vehicles toward a carbon-free society, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided to support the transformation of businesses so that many parts manufacturers can support electric vehicles such as EVs = electric vehicles.

We dispatch OBs of automobile manufacturers to advise on the development of parts for electric vehicles.

The Government of Japan has set a goal of turning all new vehicles into so-called electric vehicles such as EVs, hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles by 2035 toward the realization of a carbon-free society.

To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided to support not only automobile manufacturers but also parts manufacturers so that they can respond to the electrification of such vehicles.

Specifically, we

will dispatch experts such as OBs of automobile manufacturers to companies that have made engine parts, etc., to advise on the know-how necessary for developing parts for electric vehicles, and to

support human resource development.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry aims to support about 1,000 companies annually, and plans to include 410 million yen in the budget request for the next fiscal year as a necessary expense.

The number of car parts is about 30,000 for a general gasoline car, but it is said that the number of EVs without an engine will be reduced to about 20,000.

Among them, engine-related parts manufacturers have a large number of employment, so it seems that the issue will be whether they can support electrification in the entire supply chain.
