The Qinghai-Tibet Railway, starting from Xining City in Qinghai Province in the east and Lhasa City in the Tibet Autonomous Region in the west, is the first railway to the hinterland of Tibet. It is also the highest and longest plateau railway in the world.
July and August are the most beautiful times along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains, grasslands, lakes, cattle, and sheep together form a unique and beautiful landscape.
