The health pass has been applied for several weeks now and some sectors are making a rather negative first assessment of this measure.

This is particularly the case for leisure parks, casinos and sports halls, which hope to be helped so as not to sink at the start of the school year.

DECRYPTION

It is a re-entry marked with the seal of the health pass against the Covid-19 which takes place from Monday.

It has already been in place since August 9 in cafes, hotels or restaurants but since July 21 in many other places such as cinemas, theaters, amusement parks or sports halls.

One month after its arrival in the daily newspaper of the French, the results show a significant economic impact on a certain number of sectors.

Indeed, leisure parks are particularly among the most affected sectors, but fortunes are diverse for these establishments.

Large parks such as Parc Astérix, Futuroscope or Puy du Fou recorded a drop in attendance during the first few days, but visitors quickly returned.

By mid-August, the activity had returned to the level of 2019.

"It was really, really hard"

The little ones suffer much more from this measure.

The Auxois zoo, for example, near Mâcon, still has a third less activity, as does the OK Corral amusement park in the south-east of the country.

"

When you have to do a PCR test to come to us, the difficulty is too great for a family

"

This is also the case with the Grand Parc d'Antilly, between Annecy and Geneva. Its officials relied heavily on the summer to make up for the losses accumulated over the past year and a half, but the health pass dashed all their hopes. "It was really very, very hard," blows Vincent Humbert, director. "The sanitary pass arrived when the weather was fine and it really caused a lot of damage to us. We are near the border and our Swiss friends do not do a PCR test to come to us because they pay for their PCR tests. "So that's heavy. Also, a lot of people have not been vaccinated, it's clear. When you have to do a PCR test to come to us, the difficulty is too great for a family. too many constraints to come to a park like us. "

The other fear in the sector is the health pass for employees, mandatory from September 1 in places that accommodate more than 50 people at the same time.

These employees, often young, are not always inclined to be vaccinated, which could increase recruitment difficulties.

Decrease in clientele, increasing terminations ...

Other sectors are affected by the application of the health pass.

This is the case with gambling casinos, for example.

There are no precise figures, but they all note a drop in the number of customers, firstly because there is a lack of foreign tourists and then the situation has worsened with the implementation of the health pass.

In sports halls, representatives of the sector assure that the number of requests for termination of subscription increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2019. At the same time, they noted a significant drop in new subscriptions. The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, has undertaken to take stock of these impacts from Monday, August 30.
