The Free Zone in Masdar City has launched a new package of company formation services, dedicated to female entrepreneurs, with the aim of promoting the growth of companies run by women in the UAE.

A statement issued yesterday stated that this step comes in conjunction with the Emirati Women's Day, which falls on August 28, which is held this year under the slogan "Women are ambitious and bright for fifty", in line with the celebrations of the "Fiftieth Year" and the golden jubilee of the UAE.

Abdullah Balalaa, CEO of Masdar City, said that Masdar has realized, since its inception, the importance of the pivotal role of women in efforts to build a more sustainable future, pointing out that the Free Zone in Masdar City is working to embody these trends in line with the The UAE's goals of achieving the greatest possible balance between the sexes and promoting sustainable development.

He added, "In 2017, the UAE pledged $50 million to support the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative Fund. It also presented several initiatives to further encourage women's entrepreneurship, including the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen's Council."

In turn, the acting director of the Free Zone at Masdar City, Masarra Al Ameri, said that the free zone pays great attention to women due to their important contribution to achieving the economic and development goals of the UAE, which aim to build a prosperous and sustainable future for all.

She added: "Women in (Masdar City) play a major role in the progress achieved within the city in the areas of artificial intelligence, clean energy, healthcare technologies, food security, mobility, water, and sustainable real estate development."

She pointed out that Masdar City offers a competitive business package that will allow more female entrepreneurs to establish their companies there.
