She confirmed to "Emirates Today" that she has benefited from direct discounts, in addition to offers to buy two goods and the third for free, demanding that the discounts include some new models of bags and shoes that are sold at relatively high prices.

In turn, the consumer, Sharif Taher, said that the school goods discounts included shops and outlets, and included discounts on clothes, shoes, bags, and stationery, at rates up to 70%, pointing out that the discounts are good, and include several types.

Taher called for extending the reduction period until after the payment of salaries, so that families can buy school supplies, pointing out that the school stage comes after the summer vacation period, which usually witnesses an increase in spending, in addition to the fact that some families are still on vacations outside the country.

Consumer Salem Saeed considered the discounts very good, pointing out that they ranged between 20 and 70%, and included various goods such as clothes, shoes, bags, tools and office supplies, including notebooks, papers, pens and colors.

It was agreed that the discounts should include some new models of bags and shoes, and extend the period of discounts during the first period of schools until the beginning of the month, enabling families to buy when salaries are paid.

In addition, Ibrahim Ayoub, a sales official in a commercial store in a mall in Abu Dhabi, said that the return to the application of the in-person learning system in Abu Dhabi schools has increased sales of school supplies by rates ranging between 20 and 40%.

He added that sales outlets seek to display the largest possible number of school supplies, offer discounts to increase sales, and relieve parents, especially in light of the repercussions of the "Corona" pandemic, and the vacation period that is witnessing an increase in spending in general.

He explained that the display of some new models needs approval from the supplier, expecting that sales will witness further increases, after the end of the holiday season, and the return of all families from their vacations.

In the same context, the sales official in one of the major outlets, Rajiv Tamara, said that there is a demand for buying school supplies, benefiting from discounts and value-added offers on some goods, stressing that sales increased by more than 40% compared to last year, as a result of returning to the application of the system. Retail expert, Davey Nagpal, said that the back-to-school season is one of the most important buying seasons throughout the year, and supports retail sales, especially after the return of in-person education.

Nagbal called for extending the discount period during the first period of schools, to relieve parents and increase sales at the same time, agreeing that some families have not purchased their school supplies yet, because they did not return from vacations.

He said that the extension is in the interest of merchants and consumers alike.
