The reorganized Anshan Iron and Steel Group ranks second in China with an annual production capacity of 63 million tons of crude steel, and has become the largest steel "aircraft carrier" in northern my country.
"Today is an important milestone in the history of Ansteel's development." At the reorganization meeting, Ansteel Group Party Secretary and Chairman Tan Chengxu said excitedly that the two companies whose headquarters are only more than 60 kilometers apart have finally come together.
According to the reorganization agreement, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Liaoning Province transferred its 51% equity interest in Benxi Iron and Steel to Anshan Iron and Steel for free, and Benxi Iron and Steel became the controlling subsidiary of Anshan Iron and Steel.
By 2025, Ansteel will achieve the development goals of 70 million tons of crude steel, over 50 million tons of iron ore concentrate, 300 billion-level operating income, and tens of billions of profit.
Anshan Iron and Steel is a central enterprise managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and is known as the “eldest son of the Republic of Iron and Steel Industry”. Benxi Iron and Steel is the largest state-owned enterprise in Liaoning Province.
In modern times, the two companies have witnessed the development of China's steel industry from scratch, from small to large, and have made outstanding contributions to the industrialization of the Republic and the development of the national economy.
In recent years, they are typical representatives of the urgent need for transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
After the start of this reorganization, Anshan Iron and Steel and Benxi Iron and Steel will comprehensively promote the synergy and integration of core businesses in the value chain, accelerate the release of aggregation efficiency, and strive to create a "ballast stone" that guarantees the safety of national strategic resources, a "source" for the supply and application of original steel technology, Constructing a new industrial pattern and boosting the revitalization of the Northeast, building Anshan Iron and Steel into a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness, and building Benxi Iron and Steel into a highly internationally competitive automotive steel and special steel bar and wire production base.
He Wenbo, executive chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association, said that after Anshan Iron and Steel reorganizes Benxi Iron and Steel, China will form a new pattern of iron and steel industry with "Baowu in the south and Anshan Iron and Steel in the north". At the restructuring meeting on the 20th, China Chengtong and China Guoxin signed an agreement with Ansteel Group to increase capital in Ansteel Group.
