Overcome fear

"Like any fear, it most often comes from a lack of knowledge of the subject. We project, we have the impression that the salary difference is enormous when in fact, for example, salaries in the economy Social and Solidarity are on average only 15 to 25% lower than in the traditional sector.

It is up to everyone to identify their possibilities, their financial constraints: it is not the same if you have four children and a loan than if you are 24 years old and can still live with your parents.

To overcome your fear, the best is therefore to face it, and to put your personal economic model in black and white: its incompressible charges, and those which are less so "

Go and meet people who are already in the targeted sector

"One of the best ways to get a concrete idea of the jobs in the sector and the associated salaries is of course to go and meet people who are already in the targeted sector! This may seem basic but in reality few people do. Ask around for contacts and if you don't have a network yourself, no problem, just create it!

  •  Identify the right people through LinkedIn or reading media articles

  • Dare to go: send an email, a LinkedIn in-mail.

For inspiration, you can watch the The Art of Building Relationships conference in which Samer Koujuk, a young man from the suburbs talks about how he managed to reach people he considered unattainable!

To give you hope, there is the scientific theory of six handshakes, developed in 1929, which explains that we are only 6 degrees of separation from any person in the world.

And today with social networks, we would only be 3.5 degrees… So ready to contact Barack Obama?

List the positives

"A drop in salary can, and must be offset by many positive points, otherwise what good is it! What we are proposing to you, then, is to redefine your conception of success. How would you respond to the sentence: “For me, being successful in my life is…” Do the exercise, and you will find that you will be surprised… Another very effective way to answer this question is to ask yourself what you would like to be said from you on the day you retire What do you want people to remember about you?

These exercises are meant to make you realize the true value for money and your success.

You can also simply list all the positive things you gain by accepting a pay cut: maybe it makes more sense in his job?

Better quality of life?

Greater pride in watching your children?
