Agree to start small

"As Saïd Hammouche, president of the Mozaïk Foundation and creator of Mozaïk RH, a human resources firm that honors the talents of young people from less privileged areas, it can be very beneficial to move forward in stages. It all depends on how we see things, from our perspective, but each experience can be rich in learning. 'Even by selling burgers you can learn a lot,' says Saïd Hammouche. It is obviously more difficult to start at the bottom of the line. 'scale when you do not leave with the same privileges as the others, but that does not mean that you cannot learn as much. You can learn to value the types of technical and especially behavioral skills (the famous' soft skills') that we develop through experience. "

Identify the appropriate structures to support you

"Fortunately, there are now more and more specialized structures to support people who do not leave with the same privileges as others. It is normal and important to recognize this and therefore to propose adapted solutions and concrete measures to achieve real equality of opportunity.

You can take a look at the exceptional work done by organizations such as Article 1, the Institute for Engagement, The Determined (specifically on entrepreneurial support), Osons Ici et Now, Our neighborhoods have talent, Mozaïk RH.

Many of these organizations are united within L'Ascenseur, which pools the strengths of these structures and strengthens their complementarities and links.

The Elevator is creating a fund to financially support young people who want to set up their projects.

For people who live in rural areas and have specific issues in this environment, the best organization to go to is Chemins d'Avenir. "

Make your difference an asset

"It may seem easy to say that, but it is the most important! As Saïd Hammouche puts it so well: 'Our identity is our strength: above all not to disappear behind the image that society recognizes, to be proud of its differences whatever they may be. ”Today, our education system has a strong tendency to value only one type of talent, of skills, and to exclude those who do not fit these nails. In the world of work, we are looking for more and more diversity in behavioral skills: creativity, empathy or the ability to solve problems for example. So trust yourself and change your outlook on your differences to make them your main strengths! "
