"Dubai Tourism": update the precautionary measures, starting today, August 12th

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai said that it was allowed to raise the capacity of all hotel facilities operating in Dubai to 100%.


In a circular, the department indicated that it had updated a set of precautionary and preventive measures for the tourism sector, and accordingly, the department directed all concerned investors and managers of hotel establishments, restaurants, facilities and halls in the Emirate of Dubai, to abide by the following:


Restaurants and cafes:


 raising the capacity to 80%, with the possibility of reducing the distance of separation Social between tables from 2 to 1.5 meters. And returning to the usual pre-pandemic working hours, while adhering to the permits and instructions issued by the department. Restaurants and cafes can extend recreational activities to 3 am, subject to general rules.

Recreational places: 


Raising the capacity of all recreational facilities, exhibitions, museums, cinemas, and tourism activities to 80%.

Business events: 


Increasing the capacity to 100%, while adhering to all business events protocols issued by the department.

Community events:


 Increasing the number of participants to 2500 for indoor spaces and 5000 for open spaces, and the vaccination is not mandatory.

Recreational and sporting events:


 Increasing the capacity of all places where events are held (including audiences) to 60% without specifying the maximum number of participants, with no mandatory vaccination.


Corporate events and award ceremonies: 


Increase the number of participants to a maximum of 1,000 people, and vaccination is not mandatory.

Social activities:


 Increasing the capacity to 60% and not to exceed 300 people, with no mandatory vaccination.

The owner of the ceremony pledged to assume full responsibility in adhering to all precautionary measures.

It is forbidden to enter those who have any health symptoms and encourage children, the elderly and those with chronic diseases to attend the ceremony in order to preserve public health.

According to the circular, the department allowed recreational activities (with free movement) and limited them to the recipients of the vaccine so that the number of attendees does not exceed 5,000 people, while adhering to the general rules.

And mandatory vaccination for bidders residing in the country, or conducting a PCR examination for unvaccinated bidders 24 hours before the event.

The department stressed the need to fully adhere to the precautionary measures and procedures issued in advance, and Dubai Tourism will continuously evaluate the new situation with the health authorities.
