According to the data disclosed by the China Bicycle Association in November 2020, in recent years, the annual sales of electric bicycles in my country have exceeded 30 million, and the social ownership is close to 300 million.
At the same time, fire and explosion accidents of electric bicycles have occurred frequently.
For example, on May 10, an electric car in an elevator in a community in Chengdu, Sichuan Province caught fire. In just 3 seconds, the flame engulfed the entire elevator room, causing five people in the elevator to burn to varying degrees, one of whom was 5 months old. 8 of the baby’s fingertips fell off, resulting in permanent disability.
For another example, on July 18, an electric bicycle in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, suddenly ignited spontaneously while driving. The father and daughter in the vehicle were swallowed by the fire on the spot. After the diagnosis and treatment by the hospital, the burn area of his father exceeded 90%. There was an explosion injury to the lungs; the daughter had a burn area of 95%, and her condition was extremely critical.
The Fire Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Emergency Management released information in July showing that there have been 6,462 fire accidents involving electric vehicles across the country this year.
From the point of view of fire sites, residential houses, self-built houses and stores along the street are the places where electric vehicle fires are high.
From the point of view of the cause of the fire, electrical failure and spontaneous combustion are the main causes of electric vehicle fires, while overcharging, battery cell failure, and electrical circuit short-circuit are the root causes of electric vehicle electrical fires.
According to the analysis conducted by the National Quality Inspection Center for Light Electric Vehicles and Battery Products, electric bicycle-related safety accidents mainly present the following characteristics: In the past, there were more traffic accidents, but now there are more fire accidents; vehicle modification is the key behavior that causes accidents; batteries; And the charger is an important source of accidents.
For this reason, the China Consumers Association and others issued consumer warnings: First, you must purchase electric vehicles from regular operators; second, use original chargers for moderate charging; third, do not illegally modify electric bicycles; fourth, choose a unified configuration of charging and Parking place; Fifth, enhance safety awareness, frequent inspections and frequent maintenance, to avoid "overdue service"; Sixth, actively safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.
