Find the answers in yourself

"What is important is to start with yourself: identify what we like and what we like less, what we lack in our current job for example. Wanting to change jobs, that does not mean say that you necessarily hate your current job and that there is everything to throw away, on the contrary! If we are where we are today, it is surely that there are things that we make skills and talents that we are already exploiting and that we want to keep for the rest of our career.

We can also ask ourselves the question: "What is success for me?", And write down everything that comes to mind.

Is it the status, the salary, or the usefulness that I have in my job?

Is it having enough free time to take care of your family or to pursue a hobby?

Do it, we are often surprised by the result… "

Get support and find a suitable companion

"Very often you don't know where to start and you feel alone with the magnitude of the task. And that's normal! So why deprive yourself of support? There are many ways of doing things, all very different which help you move forward You can take stock of your skills (for example with Ticket for Change, Switch Collective, Mon job de sens, Chance.co, So Many Ways, etc.), get support from a coach (Institut Aristote, Coach Around the World ...), a shrink, a mentor, a group of peers (makesense) ... or all of this at the same time!

And for those looking for a job with impact, there are job search platforms (jobsthatmakesense), specialized recruitment firms (Talents & Impact), business forums around the professions of ecological and social transition (Convergences, Pro Durable ...), numerous media (Fuyons la Défense, So good, Socialter) ... The ecosystem has been largely structured to help make committed choices: it's up to everyone to find what is good for him or her ! "

Accept that the process can be long

"Everest does not climb in 2 hours! It takes time, as much upstream of the ascent, to prepare, as during. Listening to yourself, asking yourself what your real aspirations and desires are, is something we've rarely been taught to do in school or in our families, so it takes time.

Changing your life doesn't have to be done in a snap, or in a radical way. You can take the time: start taking small steps, in parallel with your work, test, iterate, until you are sure of your decision, of the path you can and want to take. Again it depends on the personalities: what you choose to do will be the right one for you! "
