She explained that there is absolutely no truth in what is being circulated about receiving calls inquiring about the developments of the “Covid-19” vaccine, and causing penetration of phones, and theft of photos and personal files.

On its social media pages, the authority stressed that there is no way to hack the phone or steal data by making or receiving phone calls.

The "Communication Regulation" had previously monitored a number of fraudulent messages that contain fake links that reach users in the form of short text messages on phones, and through WhatsApp messages, impersonating the names of companies or banking agencies, and asking users to call certain numbers and provide personal data. and bank card data, under the pretext of blocking the ATM card to be defrauded and stolen.

The authority stressed not to deal with anonymous links currently spread via personal e-mail, as they contain malicious software, and called not to click on such links until after verifying the sending person, to avoid exposure to any malicious programs.

It advised dealers not to click on strange links or open attachments from unverified sources, and called on users to verify the authenticity of text messages, not to communicate through the numbers mentioned in the message, and to communicate with the official authority through direct contact using the numbers on its official channels. .

The Communications Regulatory Agency previously stressed the need to update electronic devices and smartphones, download updated anti-virus applications on a continuous basis, and avoid using pirated programs or obtaining them from unreliable sites.
