The conference was jointly organized by the General Administration of Market Supervision and the People's Government of Sichuan Province and co-organized by the People's Government of Chengdu City.
The conference invites representative antitrust agencies and international organizations in the world to participate. It is the only multilateral institutional platform in the field of international competition that is dominated by developing countries and emerging market countries. It is also an important pragmatic activity under the framework of the BRICS leaders’ meeting. Has extensive influence in the field of international competition.
The conference was co-sponsored by the former State Administration for Industry and Commerce of China and the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia in 2009, and then held in turn in the BRICS countries every two years.
Up to now, it has been held for 6 consecutive sessions.
This conference is the second time to be held in my country after a lapse of ten years. It is also an important home event of the State Administration of Market Supervision in the field of international competition after the reform of the market supervision system. Institutional opening in the field of rules is of great significance.
The main activities of the conference include the opening ceremony, two plenary sessions, four sub-forums, round table forums and closing ceremonies. Sichuan will also host the "3rd China Pilot Free Trade Zone Coordinated Open Development Forum" and "BRICS (Sichuan) Economic and Trade" Supporting activities such as "Cooperation Forum".
The successful holding of the conference will be positive for demonstrating the achievements of my country’s reform, development and opening up, building a new higher-level open economic system, promoting a more just and reasonable global economic governance system, and implementing a wider, broader, and deeper level of full opening. The main graphic is a "lantern" drawn by five lines representing the colors of the BRIC national flags, which symbolizes the unity and cooperation of the competition agencies of the BRIC countries, mutual benefit and win-win results, and jointly maintains fair competition in the international market.
