Photovoltaic power generation is the key to the spread of renewable energy, but the price of panels is rising.

And human rights issues in China could put further upward pressure on prices.

According to the solar power consultant company "Resource Comprehensive System", the price of solar panels has risen by more than 20% as of the end of June compared to the same period of the previous year.

The main factors are that the price of one of the parts, glass, is rising due to the increase in global demand, and that the factories of Chinese manufacturers that produce another part, polysilicon, are suffering from a series of fire accidents and production is stagnant. It is a factor.

In addition, about half of China's polysilicon is made in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which is suspected of being forced labor.

In June, the US government took measures to ban imports from some companies due to human rights issues, which could put further upward pressure on prices.
