In line with the increase in tobacco tax in October, JT = Japan Tobacco has decided to raise the price of major brands by about 30 to 40 yen per box.

According to the announcement, JT applied to the Ministry of Finance on the 30th to raise the prices of 173 brands such as cigarettes and cigars from October this year in line with the increase in tobacco tax.



Of these, cigarettes are the main brands, and the price has increased by about 30 to 40 yen per box. Each box contains 20 cigarettes.


▽ "Natural American Spirit" from 570 yen to 600 yen,


▽ "Seven Stars" and "Seven Stars" "Peace" will be from 560 yen to 600 yen, and


▽ "Mobius" will be from 540 yen to 580 yen.



The main brands of cigars are


▽ "Camel Cigar" from 400 yen to 500 yen and


▽ "Wakaba Cigar" from 410 yen to 500 yen.



JT has decided to raise the price from October 1st if the application is approved, and plans to apply for a price increase for some brands such as heat-not-burn tobacco in the future.
