The report predicts that China is most likely to cross the threshold of an agricultural power around 2040. It is conservatively estimated that the realization of an agricultural power should be no later than 2045.

  It is reported that the book is an annual research report compiled by the Rural Development Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and published by the China Social Sciences Press. This is the sixth book published this year.

This book includes research topics on main report, comprehensive chapter, industrial development chapter, rural construction chapter, and peasant life chapter.

  Among them, the main report defines the connotation of agricultural and rural modernization, summarizes the achievements of my country's agricultural and rural modernization, and predicts the degree of realization of agricultural and rural modernization in 2035.

According to the forecast results, the contribution rate of China's agricultural science and technology progress will reach more than 70% in 2035; the permanent population of the village will exceed 1,500, and the urbanization rate of the permanent population will be around 72%; the per capita disposable income of rural residents will exceed 40,000 yuan (2019) Price), the income differential between urban and rural residents has shrunk to 1.8.

It is estimated that by 2035, China will basically realize agricultural and rural modernization characterized by "strong agriculture, beautiful rural areas, and rich farmers".

Third, continue to improve the imbalance of rural development levels between dimensions and regions.

Fourth, after the victory in the fight against poverty, full attention will be paid to the historical shift in the focus of the work on “agriculture, rural areas and farmers”.

  In the chapter on industrial development, the report believes that the core content of China's food security strategy for 2035 is to ensure the adequacy and resilience of food and other food supplies under any circumstances.

The main measures include: coordinating domestic and international food security governance, protecting and mobilizing farmers' enthusiasm for growing grain, giving play to the fundamental role of arable land, accelerating agricultural technological innovation, and strengthening and improving the regulation of the grain market.

  In the chapter on rural construction, the report pointed out that the current equalization of basic public services in urban and rural areas is facing many system and policy obstacles. The basic public service supply system in rural areas should be improved, the financial guarantee capacity of basic public services in rural areas should be strengthened, and the mechanism for the construction of basic public service talents in rural areas should be improved. , Improve the evaluation system of the equalization of basic public services in urban and rural areas, and further promote the equalization of basic public services in urban and rural areas.

  In the Farmer’s Life chapter, the report analyzes the changing characteristics of rural consumption in China; discusses the influencing factors and future potential of rural consumption; and simulates and forecasts eight major categories of rural consumption expenditures and agricultural product consumption in 2035 based on the scenario simulation program.

The report believes that it is necessary to promote rural consumption by ensuring sustained and stable income growth for farmers, improving the rural social security system, guiding the upgrading of rural consumption structure, and promoting the development of rural e-commerce.
