West Bank: Palestinian killed by Israeli army during funeral of young Palestinian

In Beit Ummar, in the south of the occupied West Bank, near Hebron, clashes took place this Thursday, July 29 between Israeli and Palestinian soldiers.

Several dozen injured Palestinians, including one dead, a 20-year-old Palestinian boy, Shawkat Khalid Awad, shot live in the head and abdomen.

The latter were gathered for the funeral of Mohammad al-Alami, a 12-year-old boy, shot dead the day before by the Israeli army.

There were people in mourning this Thursday in Beit Ummar.

A procession of a few hundred Palestinians, accompanying the remains of the young boy, Mohammad al-Alami, 12, keffiyeh on his face, pink flower necklace on his body.

He was killed the day before by Israeli soldiers, while he was in his father's car, with his sister, in the back seat, coming back from the grocery store, as evidenced by the tomatoes, salads and other bags of vegetables that we saw in the photos after the shooting.

He was shot in the chest, transferred to Hebron hospital, where he died.

According to the Israeli army, the objective was to stop the car by pulling on the tires, while specifying that an investigation will be opened.

Mohammad's father clarified today: "

He was my life, they tore him from my heart, and killed me with him 

" 

But during the funeral, the soldiers are still present… The tension rises quickly… Stone throwing by the Palestinians, tear gas fire, stun grenades, LBD fire on the crowd by the Israeli army.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 12 people were injured, most of them by live ammunition.
