The news had already been mentioned last March: the VW catalog will include one more SUV.

It's called Taigo, and it's positioned in the small space between the T-Cross and the T-Roc.

Do not be fooled by its coupe look, the Taigo has no sporty-dynamic pretension, as evidenced by the mechanicals (only gasoline) that will be offered: 1.0 TSI 95 hp with manual 5, 1.0 TSI 110 hp with manual 6 or DSG7, and 1.5 TSI 150 hp with DSG7 gearbox.

Nothing more sporty is planned, and nothing electrified either.

Habitability and equipment

If it is not a particular road character, the argument of Taigo will be the family and technological aspects.

VW indeed promises rather generous rear seats (we can believe it, the vehicle being 3 cm longer than the T-Roc) and announces a trunk that can go from 385 to 455 liters under the shelf, thanks to a sliding rear seat.

The Taigo will also be equipped with the 10.25 '' digital instrument panel, active lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control (for level 2 range) and, rare in the segment, Matrix headlights. -Smart LEDs capable of keeping the high beams without dazzling other users.

Do Brazil

As we said, the Taigo is not entirely German, since it is a slight European adaptation of the Nivus, a vehicle initially designed by and for the Brazilian branch of the manufacturer.

The VW Taigo will arrive in dealerships before the end of the year, prices have not yet been announced.
