China News Service, Lhasa, July 28 (Wutian Shujiang Feibo) The Civil Aviation Tibet Regional Bureau introduced on the 27th that on July 26th, the T3 terminal building and the passenger boarding bridge on the north side of the station flat of the Lhasa Gonggar Airport Terminal Area Reconstruction and Expansion Project, Successfully passed the industry acceptance organized by the Civil Aviation Southwest Regional Administration, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent commissioning work.

  The reconstruction and expansion project of the Lhasa Gonggar Airport terminal area is a key construction project and an important people’s livelihood project in the "13th Five-Year Plan" of the Tibet Autonomous Region. The total investment is 3.907 billion yuan. The main construction content includes: new 88,000 square meters of terminal building and 21 aircraft The site is equipped with supporting facilities such as air traffic control, communication, production and living.

  After the project is completed and put into operation, it can meet the annual passenger throughput of 9 million passengers and the cargo and mail throughput of 80,000 tons. It will greatly enhance the passenger protection capacity of Lhasa Gonggar Airport and improve the travel experience of passengers.

  In the construction of T3, Tibet’s abundant solar energy resources are effectively utilized. The glass curtain wall adopts hollow glass and new thermal insulation technology, and the lighting adopts intelligent lighting control and energy consumption monitoring system, etc., reflecting the concept of green airport construction; building an automatic baggage sorting system, The self-service check-in system reflects the concept of smart airport construction; the exterior and interior decoration of the terminal building adopts modern and ethnic regional elements. The atrium rest area is set up in the terminal building, the commercial area is reasonably arranged and planned, and the automatic pedestrian walkway is set up. Increase passenger travel service experience and reflect the concept of humanistic airport construction.

  At present, the Tibet Regional Bureau of Civil Aviation is concentrating its efforts to do all the preparations for the commissioning of the T3 terminal, such as equipment commissioning, security drills, and workplace relocation.
