  The pilot project marks a new breakthrough in the reform of the bank account management system in Guangdong Province, and the financial support has taken a "critical step" in optimizing the business environment and facilitation of trade and investment settlement in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

  Chen Yuhai, deputy governor of the Guangzhou Branch of the People’s Bank of China, pointed out that the pilot aims to build a domestic and foreign currency bank settlement account system that meets the development needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and effectively provides greater convenience for companies in the Greater Bay Area for cross-border trade, investment and financing settlement The services provided by the Greater Bay Area are of great significance to further enhance the facilitation of trade and investment liberalization in the Greater Bay Area, and to accelerate the creation of a market-oriented legalized international business environment.

  The pilot of domestic and foreign currency bank settlement accounts was launched at the same time in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, Shenzhen City, Fujian Province, Fuzhou City, Zhejiang Province, and Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. There are 34 branches of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Guangzhou and the Agricultural Bank of China. 21 branches of Guangdong Branch and 32 branches of Bank of China Guangdong Branch can handle related business.
