Single-person office workers will receive a national subsidy of 250,000 won if their monthly health insurance premium is 143,900 won or less.

The government held the 'Second Supplementary Budget Pan-Government Task Force (TF)' meeting at the government complex in Sejong and disclosed the criteria for selecting special cases for the payment of the COVID-19 coexistence national subsidy.

The government explained that it would pay 250,000 won per person to households with the bottom 80% of income based on the health insurance premium for June, but a special case of easing the payment standards for single-person households and dual-income households will be applied.

Considering the characteristics of the elderly and the economically inactive population, for single-person households, it is decided to expand the payment target to less than 50 million won per year.

According to the selection criteria table for special cases, for single-person households, the standard of co-payment for health insurance premiums eligible for subsidies is 143,900 won or less for workplace subscribers and 136,300 won or less for local subscribers.

As it was pointed out that dual-income households may be disadvantaged because their income is higher than that of single-income households with the same number of members, the selection criteria table is applied by adding one more member.

In the case of a three-person household with a dual-income couple, the standard for a four-person household among the general selection criteria is applied.

This special case applies not only to dual-income earners, but also to those with two or more income sources in the household, such as one married couple and one adult child.

The criteria for selection of subsidy for dual-income households are for employees who are employed ▲ Two-person households 247,000 won or less ▲ Three-person households 308,300 won or less ▲ Four-person households 380,200 won or less ▲ Five-person households 414,000 won 300 won or less ▲ 6-person households 488,200 won or less, etc.

Local subscribers: ▲ Two-person households less than 270,400 won ▲ Three-person households 342,000 won or less ▲ Four-person households: 420,000 won or less ▲ Five-person households: 456,400 won or less ▲ Six-person households 530,000 Less than 1,900 won.

In the case of mixed households in which both working and local insurers are in the same household ▲ Two-person households less than 254,300 won ▲ Three-person households less than 321,800 won ▲ Four-person households less than 414,300 won ▲ 5 Households with one person: 449,400 won or less ▲ 6-person households: 540,000 won or less

Mixed household refers to a case in which one member of the household has a job and is a registered member, but the other member is a local member because he/she has business, rental, or financial income.

However, single-person households and dual-income households that are subject to special cases may also receive subsidies if the total amount of their 2020 property tax base exceeds 900 million won (announced price of 1.5 billion won) or their total financial income exceeds 20 million won. There is not.
