The pavilion will celebrate the important roles that women, famous and non-famous, have played throughout history and continue to play today, based on the important principle that humanity thrives in the flourishing of women.

Through the “New Horizons” exhibition, and with a range of events and programmes, the pavilion aims to inspire everyone who crosses its doors and urge them to make change, by breaking stereotypes and correcting misconceptions about the role of women, and highlighting the way women and men together contribute to empowering women. and gender equality.

The women's suite features five platforms, each focusing on a different story, and all of them are located on the ground floor:

■ Introduction: To explain the purpose of the wing.

■ Achievements: To highlight the impact of women in the world.

■ Challenges - to acknowledge what is hindering women's progress.

■ Solutions - To highlight initiatives that enable women to thrive so that all of humanity can thrive.

■ Interact with visitors, to encourage visitors to become champions of gender equality, women's empowerment, and go on with the journey.

Visitors can expect a creative, multi-sensory experience throughout the pavilion, with a diverse group of creatives and artists contributing to the design and organization of the pavilion alike, including Lebanese actress and director Nadine Labaki, who was previously nominated for an Oscar, and French actress, director, singer and pianist Melanie Laurent, French interior designer Laura Gonzalez, Dubai-born artist Kholoud Sharafi, French lighting designer Pauline David, and multi-talented international artist El Cid.

Over the course of six months of activities at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Women's Pavilion will host a package of activities, programs and dialogues aimed at going beyond enhancing understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment, to stimulating tangible joint action that can be shared with the world.

The events include a World Council of Women, to address their role in building a cleaner, safer and healthier world, and the “Women in the Arabian Peninsula and Islam” series, which sheds light on real stories of women who have been at the forefront throughout history and inspired others from around the world to reach new heights.

Expo 2020 will celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, 2022, by hosting a global forum under the slogan "Making New Impressions".
