China News Service, Foshan, July 21 (Reporter Cheng Jingwei) Guangdong's first 5G fully connected smart manufacturing demonstration plant was unveiled on the 20th in Shunde District, Foshan.

The demonstration plant was jointly built by three large Chinese companies, Midea, China Unicom, and Huawei.

In the factory, the high-quality 5G network supports the high-speed operation of the production line, the robot arm operates neatly and efficiently, the 5G integrated high-precision positioning system ensures consistent warehouse management accounts, and the workers wear AR equipment to achieve remote equipment maintenance... With the support of the 5G network, Each intelligent manufacturing scene can run smoothly.

According to Wu Shoubao, general manager of the Shunde plant of the kitchen and water heater division of Midea Group, based on the overall 5G scenario, the demonstration plant plans to build a total of 55 scenarios.

Of the 19 scenarios planned in 2021, 70 points have been applied in 11 scenarios.

"With the use of 5G across the entire value chain and all scenarios, we will build a model for demonstration and a pilot smart manufacturing. We hope that this factory will achieve a peak carbon in 2024 and achieve carbon neutrality in 2026."

According to reports, this 5G fully connected factory is expected to save tens of millions of yuan in annual costs.

It is reported that the "5G Application "Sailing" Action Plan (2021-2023)" issued by ten departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China recently proposed to accelerate the use of 5G to transform industrial intranets, build a benchmark for 5G fully connected factories, and form an information technology network The network deployment model integrated with the production control network promotes "5G + Industrial Internet" to serve the core links of production.

Guangdong is an important manufacturing base in China, and the province is vigorously promoting the digital transformation of manufacturing.

A related plan recently issued by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province proposes that by 2025, the province will promote more than 50,000 industrial enterprises above designated size to use the new generation of information technology to implement digital transformation, and drive 1 million enterprises to go to the cloud and use the cloud. This is to improve quality and efficiency, and use digitalization to lead the quality change, efficiency change, and power change of the manufacturing industry.
