On the first day of the meeting, the committee members had rich and fruitful discussions on the World Heritage Capacity Building Strategy and World Heritage projects, and reached a broad consensus.

  Tian Xuejun stated that the declaration calls for closer international cooperation within the framework of multilateralism, increasing support for developing countries, especially for Africa and small island developing States, and strengthening world heritage education, knowledge sharing and new technologies. Use and take the 50th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention as an opportunity to review history and look forward to the future, hoping to leave to future generations an open, inclusive, self-adjusting, sustainable, resilient, clean and beautiful world.

  UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Culture, Ottone Ramirez, said through a connection that we will review a set of two-year agenda items and we will update three important lists, namely the World Heritage List and the World Heritage List in Danger.
