Xinhua News Agency, Colombo, July 16 (Reporter Tang Lu) The NAITA-Huawei Information and Communication Technology Institute, jointly established by China's Huawei and Sri Lanka's National Apprenticeship and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), was launched on the 16th in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. It is providing professional skills training for the youth of the country, cultivating information and communication technology talents, and assisting the local digital construction.

  Sri Lanka’s Minister of Education, Perris, said at the launching ceremony that the quality of young people will determine the future of Sri Lanka, and it is expected that the two sides will cooperate to help Sri Lankan youths improve their professional skills.

  The chairman of Sri Lanka's National Apprenticeship and Industry Training Authority, Gamlat, expressed his hope that the college will be built as a center for information and communication technology talents and career development in Sri Lanka, so that young people can gain the latest knowledge and practical experience.

  Liang Yi, CEO of Huawei Sri Lanka, said that in recent years, Huawei has been committed to cultivating local information and communication technology talents and expects the college to provide free engineer vocational training for more Sri Lankan youths.

  It is reported that the NAITA-Huawei Institute of Information and Communication Technology will focus on basic digital skills for the public and vocational training in communication site engineering.
