Yesterday, Etihad Airways launched its first flight to Vienna, where the company will operate two weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and the Austrian capital.

And flight number (EY147) departed from Abu Dhabi International Airport at 7:30 am, arriving at Vienna International Airport at approximately 11:20 yesterday, with a welcome from the traditional water sprinklers. The new flight will be operated on Thursday and Sunday on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which includes 28 seats in business class and 262 in economy class, as well as entertainment systems and wireless internet on the plane.

Etihad Aviation Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Tony Douglas, said: “Following our successful launch of Mykonos, Santorini and Malaga earlier this July, we are pleased to operate our flights to Vienna, making it the 65th destination in Etihad’s growing network. Travelers from the Emirates do not need to undergo quarantine, whether in Austria or Abu Dhabi, in the event that all vaccination doses are received for full immunization at least 14 days before travel, including the “Sinopharma” and “Pfizer” vaccines, as Austria is within green list.
