Dubai Customs launches “electronic entry and exit certificates” initiative

Dubai Customs launched the "Electronic Entry and Exit Certificates" initiative, in cooperation with "DP World - Emirates Region", to enhance the process of merchandise exports from Jebel Ali Port.

This initiative supports the "paperless Dubai" strategy, as 700 documents are stamped daily at the customer service center, which means more than 250 thousand documents annually, and the electronic entry and exit confirmation feature helps facilitate customs operations, especially with regard to submitting refund claims. at Dubai Customs.

Director General of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, said: “We are pleased to launch the (Electronic Entry and Exit Certificate), in cooperation with (DP World - Emirates Region), which comes within Dubai Customs’ plans to automate customs procedures and rely on advanced technology, to reduce the time customers, and reduce their costs, in order to support commercial operations and increase the value of Dubai World trade, to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to bring Dubai’s foreign trade to two trillion dirhams, in the coming years.

He added: “The Corona pandemic has demonstrated the importance of digital transformation and its role in business continuity, with the aim of doubling efforts, accelerating achievement, and raising the level of efficiency in performance, and Dubai Customs succeeded in managing customs business optimally during the Corona pandemic, and where the number of customs transactions was recorded. The department completed during the first quarter of this year (5 million transactions), 99.6% of which were done through smart and electronic channels.

The value of Dubai's foreign trade for the same period increased by 10%, to reach 354.4 billion dirhams.

He continued, "Today, we are taking a new step at Dubai Customs towards enhancing the electronic transformation in government work, by applying (electronic entry and exit certificate), and providing it to customers through the department's advanced systems, which will push towards promoting exports for all types of goods, by accelerating the submission of refund claims."
