[Explanation] On July 15, the first luxury ro-ro passenger ship built by China for Algeria set sail from Nansha, Guangzhou, to the port of Algiers.

  [Commentary] It is reported that this luxury ro-ro passenger ship with a total construction cost of 1 billion yuan was built by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. and China State Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. as joint sellers for the Algerian State Shipping Company (ENTMV). It is a ro-ro passenger ship on international routes, operating routes across the Mediterranean.

  The speed and power performance are very good, and the public areas are well decorated.

  [Explanation] It is understood that the ship is 200 meters long, 30 meters wide, and can reach a speed of 24 knots.

It can carry 1,800 passengers and 600 cars at the same time.

Zhou Xuhui, deputy general manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Guangzhou Shipyard International, said that the ship meets the latest International Maritime Organization's latest safe return to port requirements and Tier Ⅲ (third-level emission) requirements. It is a ro-ro passenger ship that integrates environmental protection, green, energy saving, and comfort. .

  First of all, the customer is international, so our entire ship performance must meet international requirements, of course, there are international supporting facilities, and even international designs.

Like our ship test, we did a ship test in China and a ship test abroad to compare its performance through two ship tests, and to further prove and check the reliability of this ship.

In terms of technical performance, in terms of stability, it has reached the level of luxury cruise ships in terms of noise and vibration.

  According to the contract, the ship’s comfort requirements are level two for passengers and level three for crew. However, through our technical efforts and our early communication and intervention, our comfort level has reached level one.

  [Explanation] The reporter boarded the ro-ro passenger ship and saw that the ship has 12 decks, with various public places for passengers such as restaurants, open-air recreation areas, bars, etc. with rich functions. Algerian culture and art elements are incorporated into the design.

Zhou Xuhui introduced that in order to make customers feel at home, the design team of the ship went to live in a local country for a month to obtain design inspiration.

  This interior decoration fully integrates the local customs, so its entire visual appearance is quite Mediterranean.

For this reason, we specially sent artists and art teams to stay in the local country for about a month to learn about their culture, to feel some of their colors, and to feel their food, clothing, housing, and transportation.

After the design and construction of the entire ship is completed, the guests feel like they are at home when they board the ship.

  [Explanation] According to Zhou Xuhui, the biggest feature of this ship is that the interior materials and most of the equipment have been made domestically, and the quality and comfort have reached the design and technical index requirements.

  [Explanation] It is reported that the construction of the ship started in 2018 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Algeria. It is a project under the framework of the Algerian Presidential Plan. It is an important cooperation between China and Algeria in the development of marine economy and maritime industry, and it is also a cooperation between China and Algeria.
