The Israeli army says 20 to 30 Palestinian students have been arrested because of their alleged ties to Hamas.

A Palestinian source speaks instead of 45 people.

Their fault? Show solidarity with Montasir Shalabi, a Palestinian-American accused by Israel of carrying out an attack near a settlement last May and of killing a young Jew. A few days ago, his house was demolished by the occupying forces. A punitive measure practiced by the Jewish state against Palestinians "

responsible for attack

".

The Palestinian students were near the site of the demolished house when they were apprehended by Israeli security forces.

According to the Israeli authorities, they belong to the student faction of

Hamas

at Bir Zeit University in the West Bank.

Some are said to be "

directly involved in terrorist activities, including the transfer of money, incitement and organization of Hamas activities

 ", details an army statement.
