Important instructions from "Etihad Airways" for travel during the Eid holidays

Etihad Airways and Abu Dhabi International Airport are preparing to welcome a large number of travelers during the Eid holiday, coinciding with the launch of the latest "Etihad Airways" destinations, Mykonos and Santorni in the Greek islands, and Malaga in Spain, last week, and continuing to ease travel restrictions around the world.



In today's statement, the carrier clarified some travel instructions:



- Ensure the requirements and requirements of the destination you are traveling to, as "Etihad Airways" recommends visiting the website: (etihad.com/destinationguide) to view the latest developments before starting your journey, due to the continued change of travel requirements.



- Certified to travel? Please visit Manage My Booking on the Etihad Airways website and submit travel documents related to COVID-19.


The approval is sent to the guest via e-mail, which gives travelers more convenience and ensures that all required documents are met and allows the use of the fast track through “Mutmad to Travel” offices when completing travel procedures.



Online check-in and early arrival at the airport, as during peak period, economy class check-in counters open four hours prior to flight departure and close an hour earlier (except for US-bound flights). First and Business Class check-in counters close 45 minutes before departure. As for US flights, check-in desks are closed two hours before the flight, while boarding is closed to all Etihad Airways flights 20 minutes before departure, knowing that guests can enjoy the check-in service from home.



- When traveling to the United States, guests can take advantage of the services of the US Customs and Border Protection, which means completing customs formalities in Abu Dhabi before departure. Guests must check in 2 hours in advance and be at CBP at least 90 minutes prior to departure.



Check the weight of baggage: Before heading to the airport, please note that the weight of the hand baggage is seven kilograms for economy class and 12 kilograms for first and business class, noting that the bag may not exceed 50 cm in length, 25 cm in depth, and 40 cm in width. Alternatively, additional baggage must be purchased at special rates prior to take off via the Etihad Airways website (etihad.com) or through the online application.

- Ensure the departure terminal, as in light of the significant increase in the number of passengers, Etihad Airways will transfer check-in counters for a number of flights for economy class guests to Terminal (1) as follows:



• Flight No. (EY533) ) heading to Beirut on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of July.

• Flight No. (EY653) bound for Cairo on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of July.

• Flight No. (EY037) bound for Paris on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of July.

• Flight No. (EY73) to Zurich on the 14th, 16th and 17th of July.
