On the 12th, Okayama Prefecture, one of the leading peach producing areas in Japan, held a tasting party to promote the specialty Shimizu Hakuto at a restaurant in Hong Kong, and local media officials tasted "afternoon tea" made with peaches.

The tasting party was held jointly with a local restaurant in order to introduce a high-class peach variety, Shimizu Hakuto, which is a specialty of Okayama Prefecture, and 10 people including reporters from Hong Kong newspapers and magazines participated.

At the venue, Mr. Michihiro Kanetsu, director of JA Zen-Noh Hong Kong Office, explained the features such as whiter skin and stronger fragrance than general white peaches because they are cultivated by covering each bag.

Then, in the form of traditional English afternoon tea that once ruled Hong Kong, seven items of Shimizu white peach were served, such as foie gras terrine with peach jam and peach mousse.

A reporter who tasted it said, "White peaches feel like they take heat on hot summer days."

Another reporter said, "It's not too sweet, so I think it goes well with salty foods. I love peaches, so I'd like to go to Okayama."

Japanese fruits are very popular in Hong Kong, and according to JA Zen-Noh, more than three-quarters of the peaches exported from Japan to overseas in the year to March are destined for Hong Kong, and the unit price per piece is also high. It means that it is up.
