Minimum Wage Committee has set the minimum wage for next year to 9,160 won, a 440 won increase from 8,720 won per hour this year.

This is a 5% increase from this year, and in terms of monthly salary, it is 1914,440 won.

The minimum wage, which recorded a double-digit increase rate twice since this administration, rose only 2.9% last year and 1.5% this year, the lowest in history. The average rate of increase is similar to that of the previous administration.

The meeting, which started at 3 pm yesterday (12th), continued by repeating adjournment and resumption, and eventually passed midnight.

Both sides of the labor and management proposed the 3rd amendment yesterday afternoon, but the gap was still large, and the public interest committee offered between 9,030 won and 9,300 won as a deliberation promotion section to narrow the gap.

In response, the KCTU recommendation members left the company saying they were not at the level to discuss to change the lives of low-wage workers.

The members of the user's side also responded and left, saying that the level was beyond the ability of small business owners to pay.

Afterwards, the single proposal proposed by the public interest committee was confirmed as the final proposal.

The minimum wage for next year, decided today, will be announced by the Minister of Employment and Labor on the 5th of the following month after going through an objection process, and it will take effect from January 1 of next year.
