Recently, under the maintenance of 5 high-horsepower tugboats and sea cruisers, the "Big Mac" offshore converter station (upper module) invested by the Three Gorges Group-Three Gorges Rudong Offshore Converter Station, Nantong Zhenhua Heavy Equipment, Jiangsu The waters of the Yangtze River in front of the wharf opened the "big move" of river-to-sea transfer.

Offshore converter stations are the key core equipment for offshore wind power DC transmission.

The upper module of the converter station is 89 meters long, 84 meters wide, 44 meters high, and weighs 22,000 tons. The flat area is 7476 square meters, which is almost a standard football field. The height is about the same as the 15-story residential building, and the weight is close to 7-8. The sum of these booster stations is a veritable "Big Mac".

The converter station is responsible for concentrating a total of 1,100 megawatts of electricity from three nearby wind farms. After converting it into direct current with lower loss, it is transported to land via submarine cable.

After the project is put into operation as a whole, the annual on-grid power will reach 2.4 billion kWh, which can meet the annual power consumption of about 1.36 million households, which is equivalent to saving about 740,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide by about 1.83 million tons per year.
